Paula

Here are just a few pictures of Paula from our shoot the other day.  We had fun playing around.  We wanted to get this shoot in before all of the leaves are gone from the trees.  I love using natural backdrops, shallow depth of field with fill flash.

I will post a few more photographs from this session on Facebook and Flickr in weeks to come.  We’re building a modeling portfolio for her so when our schedules allow us to collaborate, we take advantage of it!  It’s fun working with her.  She’s a natural beauty which makes my work a breeze.  So stay tuned for more!

München

This photo was taken on our way back from Neuschwanstein Castle.  My trip to Munich is by far the best vacation ever!  I fell in love with Munich the first day.  We went to Marienplatz and walked around.  The women are beautiful and friendly unlike the stuck up ones here in Richmond that have no reason to be.

Everyone either walks, ride bikes, take the subway, taxi or bus.  There are a lot who drive as well but from what I hear it’s too expensive to drive and the streets are narrow.  I’m sure that’s why they’re thin and sexy in Europe.  The ambiance is something I could get used to.  The food and beer are plentiful and fantastic.  I would have loved to have stayed longer.  Most of all, I wish I spoke German.  I went to Oktoberfest two days in a row and had a blast.  I sat next to a cute Australian girl and shared my sausage with her.  LOL the white German sausage I had for lunch that is.  I would love to return someday for a longer stay and take the train to Frankfurt and visit family who came to meet us in Munich and took us to the castle and visit other places.  I mentioned how I would love to move there and, Helmut (I think that’s how you spell his name), said he would teach me how to speak the language.

It was a long plane ride but it was worth it.  This is the most memorable vacation ever and it will stay with me for the rest of my life.  I am so grateful for my pops for taking me on an experience of a lifetime.  Now it’s back to marketing our photography business.  I need to order new business cards this week so I can start meeting and greeting new clients.  I still haven’t adjusted with the time change and whatnot but I will get there.  For now I am trying to catch up on sleep since I didn’t really sleep much while I was there.  I have posted pictures on my FB and IG and I might post some on Flickr.  It’s been a lazy weekend with the exception of the mall trips with Angela yesterday.  Now it’s back to reality!

Bride and Groom

This is from a wedding Angela and I shot last July.  We had such a blast shooting the wedding.  Lisa Schaffner, the former local Channel 8 News Anchorwoman was there and she remembered me from a few years ago when I met her at Dunkin’ for my morning coffee and bagel.  Of course I had a photo taken with her.  Our client said, “You did an awesome job and everyone loved you guys!”

Now that I am slowing getting back into the swing of things, I am starting to post pictures on my Flickr account that I have ignored for a long time.  I will be posting more pictures from the wedding.  I am also working on a marketing strategy and I can’t wait to hit the pavement and meet people.  I am very excited to begin this venture and I know Angela is as well.  After all, she is my business partner and second shooter.

Renee

I took this photo and several others of Renee two months ago when she came over.  I’m just now able to edit and post since I haven’t had time.  This week has been off to a busy start and I’ve been working all hours redoing the website, and I’m happy to announce that for now, it’s finished.  Of course it will be an on going process of updates and whatnot.

Late last night/early this morning, I uploaded a screen shot of the new website and a photo taken at a wedding we shot on Flickr.  Then I realized that the last time I was on that site was mid-July.  I can recall a time when I was on that site daily!  Like with everything else in life, things change.  I will try to be a little more active posting photographs and interacting with my contacts.  I checked out the ‘Catchlight’ group I created a few years back and there were literally hundreds of photo’s pending a post approval.  (All photos added to the group are screened and either accepted or denied before they are added to the groups pool)  I had to set this up since there are people who claim they are photographers yet have no clue what a ‘Catchlight/Catch Light’ is.  I guess it’s safe to say that the Administrators I have assigned are no longer active either.  I can’t believe we have 2,578 members and 21,491 photos added to the group!

I am also thinking of ordering new business cards that are target specific to a venue that I am trying to break into.  I think I need to do that before I start marketing my services.  I finally got the WordPress to Twitter plug-in to work.  I was like a developer trying to link WP to Twitter with Twitter name, Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, Access Token and Access Token Secret and all that stuff.  Yeah! Longer story short, it WORKS!  Maybe I can do to bed at a decent hour tonight.

Update

Here’s the new website that I’ve been working on, for those of you who are viewing this through my Twitter.  I will update it frequently since we’re going to start shooting more weddings.  I can now focus on photography even more.  I am very excited about this new chapter in my life.

I’ve missed blogging over the years and I’m excited to get back into it.  I need to find and add my old friends in the Blogosphere.  I will as the days and weeks go since I will have more time now.  This blog may not always be photography related.  Oh well, it’s my blog and I can write about whatever I want to.
